Asce
Networks' Omnirange Plus Firewall and VPN Receives NSS Approva
6th Sept. 2001
Unique security product passes independent
laboratory testing with flying colours
GAITHERSBURG, MD - September 4, 2001-
Asce Networks, Inc., the leading supplier of high availability e-security
solutions, today announces that its Omnirange Plus Firewall and
VPN solution has earned the NSS Approval Award.
The NSS Group is Europe's leading independent
security testing organisation. NSS put Omnirange Plus through rigorous
testing at its independent UK laboratory, and described the product's
performance as 'excellent', stating that the firewall "passed
all our penetration tests with flying colours".
Omnirange Plus, with its revolutionary
Multi-Path technology, is the industry's first fully scalable firewall
to enable end-to-end high availability and security, from the corporate
intranet out to multiple ISP connections. Omnirange Plus Firewall
and VPN offers maximum network and VPN security to large-scale enterprises,
service providers and carriers.
The NSS technical evaluation report
praised Omnirange Plus for providing "a wide range of features
out of the box that would normally be an additional cost with other
products - and some of those features are simply not available with
other products".NSS tested Omnirange Plus by creating a network
consisting of two firewall engines arranged in a single node, in
order to test its core features, namely high availability and dynamic
load balancing. Omnirange Plus achieved equal balancing between
the two engines on both inbound and outbound connections. When one
engine was deliberately failed, communication remained uninterrupted,
as inbound and outbound traffic transferred seamlessly to the remaining
firewall.
Bob Walder, Director at NSS and author
of the report, commented on the testing: "Omnirange Plus is
unique in that it is designed from the ground up, with the demands
of high availability and heavy throughput environments in mind.
The product stood up well when these two key two key attributes
were tested, and also goes further in offering a wide range of features
not often found as standard on firewall and VPN solutions."
"Since its launch in March 2001,
Omnirange Plus has been received warmly by resellers, end users
and the industry as a whole," said Bob Collins, Asce Networks'
President and CEO. "We are delighted that NSS has put Omnirange
Plus to the test, recognised its unique security benefits, and seen
fit to confer NSS Approved status".
