Common Criteria testing and validation is very important to our Federal customers

GAITHERSBURG, MD. — 28 October 2003 — Asce Networks,Inc, a leading provider of mission-critical e-Business infrastructures, today announced in September 2003, OmniRange Plus with its software release 2.0.5 become the first product in its category to achieve the Common Criteria designation for both its maximum security firewall/VPN and high availability failover component.

As part of the EAL4+ certification, the Omnirange Plus VPN also received Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS 140-2) certification for data encryption.

Common Criteria is a widely recognized ISO standard that is ratified in 17 countries. OmniRange Plus was tested and validated by an independent lab facility under the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), jointly managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA).

"Common Criteria testing and validation is very important to our Federal customers," said Bob Collins, CEO of Asce Networks, Inc."OmniRange Plus' EAL4+ certification, which encompasses its firewall, VPN and failover components, reflects our ability to provide robust network security combined with high availability."

According to Jean Schaffer, Director for the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), "Common Criteria standards help government organizations to more cost effectively evaluate IT security products and purchase them with confidence."

"Common Criteria provides guidance to R&D teams through specific compliance requirements for IT security products," said Bob Collins, CEO of Asce Networks, Inc. "Adhering to the methodologies for maintaining EAL4+ certification is important as we continue to advance the OmniRange Plus technology internationally."

OmniRange Plus is the only enterprise Secure IP Services gateway with high availability features built-in to ensure always-on business connectivity.
