OmniRange
Plus Secure IP Services Gateway Introduces Drop-In Clustering
12 January 2004
New Version Eases Setup of Clustered Environments,
Increasing Efficiencies Between Security and Network Operations
GAITHERSBURG, MD. — 12 January
2004 — Asce Networks,Inc, a leading provider of mission-critical
e-Business infrastructures, today announced release 2.2 software
of its flagship product, the OmniRange Plus Secure IP Services Gateway.
The new version provides Drop-in Clustering, simplifying configuration
and reducing installation time.
Release 2.2's new Drop-in Clustering technology eliminates complex
configuration requirements for clustered gateways, enabling security
administrators to effectively "drop" a security gateway
cluster into their existing network infrastructure. While OmniRange
Plus' built-in load balancing capability has always eliminated the
need for external load-balancing devices, this new version improves
operational efficiencies by easing coordination between security
and network administrators.
According to Gartner Vice President Mark Fabbi, "Current solutions
for clustered or load balanced firewalls require coordination between
network and security operations groups. In the future, solutions
that provide improved operational efficiencies for deployment, management
and resource utilization will be well positioned in the marketplace."
OmniRange Plus is the only enterprise Secure IP Services Gateway
with high availability and load-balancing features built-in to ensure
always-on business connectivity and throughput. The OmniRange Plus
incorporates fully integrated centralized administration for easier
management, including support for distributed network environments.
“High availability continues to be integral to our OmniRange Plus
enterprise-level security gateway solution," said Bob Collins,
CEO of Asce Networks, Inc. "With the new software release,
we’ve responded to customer requests for simpler migration from
a single gateway to a clustered gateway environment. Administrators
can now move to a high availability clustered gateway scheme, without
any additional reconfiguring of existing switches or routers."
Additional new features in OmniRange Plus software release 2.2 include
category filtering, which simplifies and speeds security policy
and configuration management for large enterprises and service providers.
Other key enhancements include support for SmartCard-based authentication
and increased application security for mobile VPN clients.
The first customer installations of OmniRange Plus with software
release 2.2 are already in production. OmniRange Plus is available
through authorized distributors and channel partners. For more information,
