Climax800
Asce
Networks' Climax800 Access Switch/Data FRAD is an entry-level, convergent
solution for remote branch offices, allowing consolidation of legacy,
LAN and voice.
With its fixed configuration, the Climax800
cost-effectively converges data and voice traffic over a common
Frame Relay platform, meeting the demanding connectivity needs of
today's enterprise networks.
Affordable Entry-Level Networking
Solutions
Supporting a broad range of services including voice and data as
well as a wide range of protocols, Asce Networks' Climax800 is the
ideal solution for today's convergence needs - providing performance
and throughput to remote branch offices extending the reach of newer
applications.
Asce Networks' Climax800 Access Switch
is a compact, entry-level solution that provides remote offices
with multiprotocol and multiservice access to networks. Today's
branch offices are key entry points to the network as organizations
extend new applications and technologies to the edge of the enterprise.
The Climax800 offers single-platform consolidation of LAN, legacy
and voice at an affordable price. It supports a broad range of services
including voice and data as well as a wide range of protocols from
user devices that include; legacy SNA/SDLC, Async, 3270 Bisync,
HDLC and X.25, Frame Relay and 10BaseT Ethernet. Asce Networks'
Climax800 is the ideal solution for today's convergence needs while
providing performance and throughput to remote branch offices extending
newer applications.
Common Software Platform
Asce Networks' Common Software Platform (CSP) offers the same full
multiprotocol software support in the Climax800 that our customers
have come to expect through the Climax900e and Climax950 products.
A Powerful Solution for Remote Branch
Offices
Voice and data applications converge onto a WAN trunk running at
speeds from 56/64 Kbps to T1/E1. Units are shipped 'ready to install,'
with three serial ports, a single Ethernet port and two analog voice
ports.
Operational Features
◆ 'Typical' configuration
for small branch offices who require cost-effective multifunction
capabilities and performance.
◆ Software-configurable
voice compression algorithms to capitalize on line conditions and
network requirements using fragmentation and prioritization.
◆ ACELP II voice
compression at 5.8 and 8 Kbps
◆ G.729 standard
voice compression supported by AVDB-2 module.
◆ ADPCM voice compression
at 16, 24, 32 or 40 Kbps.
◆ VoIP (H.323) Gateway
support.
◆ Includes Asce Networks
Voice Routing Technology: a new routing approach for voice/fax traffic
over Frame Relay and IP which automatically remembers remote site
numbers, simpligying network implementation and administration,
minimizing costs.
◆ Feature-rich LAN
capabilities for Ethernet 10BaseT with IP/IPX routing and support
of LAN protocols such as RIP, RIP2, OSPF, VRRP, ARP, RARP and LLC.
◆ RFC 1490-compliant
encapsulation and fragmentation of LAN traffic in Frame Relay frames
for transmission over Frame Relay networks, resulting in reduced
costs and optimal use of bandwidth.
◆ Strong extensive
legacy support with X.25, 3270 Bisync, Async, HDLC, TBOP, TCOP and
SNA/SDLC; SDLC-LLC2 conversion; LLC2/BAN; LLC2/BNN and SDLC to QLLC/X.25.
◆ Software-selectable
ports for V.35, V.24, X.21 and configurable DTE/DCE.
◆ Network connection
support at 1.544/2.048 Mbps.
◆ Configured using
Asce Networks' new CXTool, a Windows-based configuration tool specifically
designed for Asce Networks' Climax family of products. Monitoring
is performed using Asce Networks' CXView, a monitoring tool based
on a client/server architecture that allows network managers to
view status information on their Asce Networks-based network components
from any location, using a standard HTTP browser. The CXView can
be easily integrated within an NMS, such as HP OpenView.
