The Digital Interface Module provides up to two
T1/E1 ports for channelized data and digital voice. Each module
can support up to 30 digital voice channels with 8:1 compression
ratio, using 8 Kbps (G.729) voice encoding scheme.

Asce Networks' Digital Interface Module allows T1/E1
connections to a PBX, thus providing a cost-effective solution for
long distance applications. The Digital Interface Module (DIM) provides
multiplexing for up to 32 channels for data, per chassis. Each module
can support up to 30 channels for digital voice.
Number of DIM cards supported by Climax Series products
:
I DIM card supported by the Climax950
2 DIM cards supported by the Climax960
3 DIM cards supported by the Climax2000
An optional Secondary T1/E1 processor can be inserted
on the Digital Interface Module to support a second T1/E1 port.
Data support includes any HDLC or Frame Relay encapsulated
data.
Digital voice signaling support includes SS7 transparent,
ISDN Q.931, switched Q.SIG, MFC-R2, CAS and CCS transparent. Voice
compression schemes supported are: 8 Kbps (G.729), 16, 24, 32 and
40 Kbps (G.726), and 64 Kbps (G.711). Digital Voice Processors provide
the compression/ decompression for 6 PCM channels. Up to 5 DVPs
can be installed on a DIM, supporting a total of 30 voice channels.
Operational Features
- Support for HDLC data, including Frame Relay.
- Up to 32 timeslots for channelized data and ISDN
PRI support: (32 x 64 Kbps bandwidth)
- Up to 30 voice channels per DIM, when populated
with 5 DVPs.
- Software selectable compression rates to capitalize
on line capacity and networking requirements: G.729 Annex A&B
(8 Kbps), PCM [G.711] (64 Kbps), and ADPCM [G.726] (16, 24, 32
and 40 Kbps).
- Local emulation allowing interoperability of any-to-any
signaling simplifying end-to-end solutions
- Q.SIG (User/Network) support, switched Q.SIG.
- Interoperable with Asce Networks' analog and digital
voice products for maximum network design
- Fully SNMP-manageable using CXView, Asce Networks'
Java-based management system for monitoring, statistics collection
and billing information.
- Configurable using Asce Networks' user-friendly
object-oriented graphical user interface, CXTool.
