    Analog Voice Module

The Dual Analog Voice Module allows users to integrate compressed voice and fax over a single Frame Relay service.

The Dual Analog Voice module (DAV) provides two analog channels. A variety of voice encoding schemes are supported: G.729 (8Kbps), ADPCM [G.726] (16, 24, 32 and 40Kbps), and PCM [G.711] (64Kbps) compression rates. The DAV also supports Group III fax and 14.4 fax modems with V.17 fallback to 9.6Kbps as well as automatic fax detection and demodulation based on fax tones. Its digital encoding and compression capabilities enhance the privacy of voice and fax communications. The DAV requires a -48V/ Ring generator card to be installed in the Climax900e chassis. FXS, FXO and E&M (2- & 4-wire) interface support is provided by SLIM LIDs.

Operational Features

  • Software selectable compression rates to capitalize on line capacity and networking requirements.
  • Automatic fax demodulation for 14.4Kbps modems with automatic V.17 fallback to 9.6Kbps, which maximizes bandwidth use and reduce costs.
  • Any-to-any voice switching for maximum networking flexibility and ease of configuration.
  • Compresses voice to reduce bandwidth requirements and enhance network performance.
  • Signal interfaces support all standard phone connections for easy integration.
  • Interoperable with Asce Networks' analog and digital voice products for maximum network design.
  • Fully SNMP-manageable using CXView, Asce Networks' Java-based management system for monitoring, statistics collection and billing information.
  • Configurable using Asce Networks' user-friendly object-oriented graphical user interface, CXTool.

3 DAV modules supported on the Climax900e.
4 DAV modules supported on the Climax950.
