Video Framer

Asce Networks' Video Framer is a unique, cost-effective product that enables videoconferencing over Frame Relay services. The Video Framer provides the capability to convert continuous bitstream data (such as H.320) into Frame Relay for transport over your existing Frame Relay network.

Combined with Asce Networks' Climax Series of Frame Relay access products, the Video Framer allows users to integrate videoconferencing with their existing LAN-to-LAN connectivity, inter-office voice communications, SNA/SDLC traffic, etc. over a single Frame Relay circuit. Video CODECs (encoder/decoders) are typically designed to run on leased line or ISDN-type services, which provide a transparent path for a continuous bitstream. Now, thanks to the Video Framer, customers can incorporate their video services into an existing integrated data and voice solution, eliminating the cost of multiple networks.

The versatility of the Video Framer allows video to be incorporated into an existing network, providing an instant upgrade to Frame Relay networking facilities.

A unique underlying protocol is used to negotiate a master/slave relationship between two communicating Video Framer products, allowing for 'end-to-end' management of buffers, providing slip-free data transfer.
